This past weekend was truly amazing, I had seen catwalks after catwalks, spoken to many lovely people, enjoyed the atmosphere of high class, style and great amounts of sophistication.
Friday had brought three great fashion shows from three great designers, Trelise Cooper, Katheryn Wilson and Juliette Hogan which had me ‘oooh-ing’ and ‘aah-ing’. So I expected Saturday to be the same, unfortunately I had missed out on some great shows during the day, but had made it in time for the big Saturday finale, the Zambesi, Kate Sylvester and WORLD show.
It was interesting to attend a pre-party as I never even heard of the idea before, but it existed, and it was for VIP and ticket holders. And what great luck, I had a ticket. I enjoyed Valet parking (bless the poor soul that had to drive my banged up car), free drinks, fine food, goodie bags and front row seats to the show!
Zambesi brought around smokey-yellow checkers and soft floral prints combining it with their known dark minimal tailoring. Kate Sylvester had a bit of fun with fur, fox ears with splashes of colours and patterns from the Orient. While WORLD once again demonstrated their bold skill and creativity by delivering more vibrant colours and strong patterns in one collection.
The show was just amazing, the soundtracks were awesome, and I couldn’t stop dancing in my seat. My favourite pieces will have to be two of Kate Sylvester’s red dresses, the bright red knee length dress that pleats and folds at the waist and the long sleeveless dress with oriental/floral stitching.
