Goodness store owner Chris Hailes and designer Nicola Screen have rounded out the final show for Wellington Fashion Week at the Queens Wharf Ballroom at Foxglove.

Chris told us after the show that the setting was designed to capture a New York loft apartment feel, and the dark moody lighting in the room full of exposed wooden beams and ornate hanging chandeliers certainly did the trick!

The show began with floral pieces creating a burst of colour to compliment the grey and charcoal tones that featured throughout, with the collection gradually becoming darker and edgier as the show went on. The icing on the cake were two stunning bridal dresses that remained in keeping with the feel of the collection, and maintained the “organic and arty” look that Nicola Screen described her love of.

Our friend Peter Burkhill from Buoy Hairdressing styled the models hair for the show, creating a look inspired by Cindy Lauper using texture and movement featuring contemporary style dreadlocks and an avant-garde feel in keeping with the NYC high-end fashion theme of the afternoon.

The collection is currently available in Goodness, College Street Wellington – www.goodness.co.nz
