Give A Little…

We just heard from artist Megan Geliza

I’m about to head on this amazing journey to the Thai/Burma border in December for the second installment of the Little Lotus Project. This project, organized by the Spinning Top charity, volunteered 11 artists from around the world – 2 being from New Zealand including me – to work with refugee children and their 2 schools. We’ll be painting murals for their schools, teaching art classes and doing art projects with them, and for Christmas, each school will celebrate with a paint party, where the artists and children will collaborate on a huge canvas that will be cut up into smaller works, to be auctioned off in exhibits in New Zealand and the US to raise more funds for their welfare.

I hope you will help me get sent there by contributing to a donation. The funds will help me get to Mae Sot, Thailand, and will also go towards the childrens’ ongoing welfare and education. We’re aiming to raise $3,000, and hopefully we get there!

To donate: You can click on my GiveaLittle page, and donate any amount online.

If you donate $25 or more, do let me know and as a little gift I will send you a signed and customized Limited Edition Print of any of my 2 paintings, “The Spectre’s Cessation” or “Tango Gamble” to hang on your wall. (see painting attached!)

Also, 2 donors who donate the highest amount for this month will receive an original painting by me. Yey!

Thank you so much! To stay up to date on this project, become a fan of the Little Lotus fb page. Last year’s project saw 4 artists including Tanja Jade (Misery) from New Zealand. A documentary from New York & NZ will be made about this project too. It’ll be life-changing and incredible.

Cloudy in Britomart

Cloudy Bay brought a little bit of Marlborough to Britomart this week to celebrate the launch of their 2011 Sauvignon Blanc.

Australis House was transformed into an urban vineyard and more than 200 guests were treated to the ultimate First of the Season tasting experience. New season salmon, spring lamb, free range chicken and seasonal herbs were paired with Cloudy Bay’s 2011 Sauvignon Blanc.

MC Clarke Gayford and Cloudy Bay wine maker Nick Lane talked guests through a behind the scenes look at how this year’s vintage was created, with notes of passionfruit, gooseberry and tomato leaf, before an evening of entertainment ensued with the help of DJ’s Marc Moore and Steve Dunstan of People of Paris.

Cloudy Bay 2011 Sauvignon Blanc will be available in stores from October 1st.
